Who we are

prcard.ca is independent software built by permanent residents. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), the Canada Border Services Agency or the Government of Canada. The Permanent Residence Portal, IRCC forms and canada.ca belong to the Government of Canada.

Not legal advice

This site explains published IRCC rules in plain language and links every rule to its source. It does not assess your case, does not communicate with IRCC on your behalf and does not represent you. Only an IRCC officer decides on your application. For advice about your situation, consult a lawyer, a Quebec notary or a licensed immigration consultant (RCIC).

Accuracy

IRCC changes its pages, forms and processing times several times a year. Each page shows the date we last verified it against the source. We work to keep the site current, but the source pages on canada.ca are the authority and prevail over anything written here.

The calculator and other tools

The residency calculator counts the days between the dates you enter and compares that total to the threshold IRCC publishes. It does that arithmetic and shows you both numbers. It does not assess your situation, does not decide whether you meet the residency obligation, and is not a guarantee: only an IRCC officer decides.

Liability

The free tools are provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, prcard.ca is not liable for losses arising from use of the site, including a returned, delayed or refused application.

Paid services and refunds

prcard.ca now offers one paid product, the renewal pack. See "Renewal pack (paid)" below for its price, refund policy and terms.

Renewal pack (paid)

The renewal pack is software that organises your own answers and files. It is not legal advice, it does not submit anything to IRCC, and it does not guarantee any outcome: IRCC decides every application.

The questions follow the PR Portal's own screens, and which ones appear depends on the answers you give, exactly as the portal's screens do. That is form logic, not an assessment of your situation: the software applies no judgement to your circumstances, recommends no course of action, and tells you nothing about your case that the published IRCC rules do not already say.

Price: CA$49, one-time, taxes not charged at present. Payment is processed by Paywall and Stripe under their terms.

Refunds: email hello@prcard.ca within 14 days of payment for a full refund. Access to the answer sheet and pack ends when the refund is issued.

Access is held against a code your browser creates for itself, not an account. The pack shows that code once you have paid: type it into another phone or computer to use the answer sheet and pack there. Anyone holding the code can use the purchase, and we cannot look it up for you — keep it where you keep your receipts. Clearing a browser's data removes the answers and files saved in it; those are only ever on your device.

We may change or retire features.
