The short version
Nothing you type into the free tools is sent to us. The residency calculator runs entirely in your browser and saves your trips in your browser's local storage so you can come back to them; clearing your browser data removes them. prcard.ca has no accounts, no sign-in and no email list.
What we collect
We do not collect names, dates of birth, UCIs, travel dates or anything else you enter into the tools. The one exception is the email you type at checkout, covered under "Renewal pack" below.
We use Microsoft Clarity to see which pages people open and where they get stuck. It records page views, clicks, scrolls, screen size, the pages you move between, and a replay of what the page looked like as you used it, collected by Microsoft on our behalf. It tells us "this page was viewed 120 times" and "people stop scrolling here", never who you are. It does not run on the renewal pack pages, and the trips you enter in the calculator are hidden from the replay.
We also use Google Analytics, which counts visits and tells us which pages and which country they came from. It receives the page you opened, not what you typed.
Neither one runs on the renewal pack pages, where you type your details and add your files. Those pages load no analytics at all.
Microsoft and Google hold that data and may use it as described in their privacy statements at privacy.microsoft.com and policies.google.com/privacy. If you would rather not be counted, open prcard.ca/?analytics=off once: this browser then loads neither tool, on any page, until you open prcard.ca/?analytics=on. Browser tracking protection, an ad blocker or Google’s opt-out add-on stop them too.
Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes your IP address to deliver the pages and to protect against abuse, as any website host does. We keep no database. Cloudflare keeps a short technical log of calls to our payment routes, which records the route and whether it failed, never what was sent.

Every rule on this site links to its source on canada.ca, the PR Portal or another Government of Canada site. Those sites have their own privacy practices.
Paid services
prcard.ca now offers one paid product, the renewal pack. See "Renewal pack" below for exactly what is collected and why.
Renewal pack
Your interview answers and the files you add are stored in your browser only (local storage and IndexedDB). They never reach our servers, and nobody at prcard.ca can see them. "Clear everything" in the pack deletes the application you have open; Delete beside a saved application removes that one, files and all. Clearing your browser data removes them all.
To sell the pack we use Paywall (paywallhq.com). When you pay, your browser sends prcard.ca your email address and a random identifier created for this browser, which we pass to Paywall (which processes payments with Stripe) and do not keep; this lets Paywall issue a receipt and remember that this browser paid. Stripe receives your card details directly; we never see them. See Stripe's privacy policy for how it handles payment data.
We keep no other record of your purchase than what Paywall and Stripe hold for receipts, refunds and accounting.
Canadian law
prcard.ca is operated in Canada and follows the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). We store no personal information about you — the checkout email passes through our server to Paywall and is not kept: the analytics above sit with Microsoft and Google, are not tied to your name, and we cannot connect them to you. If you believe we hold something about you, write to us and we will respond within 30 days.
